Spotlight the Stars of Service
Do you know an LCPA member who’s a real star—dedicated to brightening their community and our profession? Someone who’s generous with their time and talents to make a difference? Don’t keep them in the shadows—spotlight their brilliance!
Each year, LCPA rolls out the red carpet to honor outstanding members whose contributions deserve center stage. Now’s your chance to help us recognize these extraordinary individuals..
Nomination deadline is January 31, 2025
Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education
This aims to recognize outstanding full-time accounting educators, whose professional contributions deserve commendation. Candidates must:
- Distinguish themselves as an outstanding educator in classroom teaching and accounting,
- Establish a record of scholarly research and publication in accounting and
- Demonstrate a record of participation in professional organizations and public service activities.
The Departments of Accountancy at Louisiana's colleges and universities will be asked to submit candidates in addition to those received through the Society. Nominations must include a comprehensive resume on the candidate's qualifications and additional evidence from colleagues, alumni, students, and other qualified individuals.
Distinguished Public Service
The award is the highest honor for public service leadership, impact, involvement, and innovation among Louisiana CPAs. It focuses on community service rather than service to the LCPA or profession. Previous Public Service Award recipients review nominations and select each year's award winner.
Attachments, such as detailed descriptions of service, references, letters of support, and background articles, are strongly encouraged. Professional service related to LCPA or other accounting organizations is NOT considered in determining the award winner and, therefore, should not be included. Prominence should be given to the nominee’s current service and activities.
Distinguished Service to the Profession
This award is presented to CPAs who have consistently rendered distinguished service to the Society over a long period of time.
Honorary Member
Awarded to a non-CPA, non-LCPA member for outstanding service that enhances the field of accounting and the CPA profession.
Life Member
This award, subject to board approval, is presented to long-standing CPAs who have serviced the profession in an outstanding way and are in or near retirement.

This is an award presented to an individual, employed in industry, who has contributed significantly to the growth and success of his/her employer organization and contributed significantly to the growth and enhancement of the profession.
Special Recognition
This award is presented to CPAs who have demonstrated outstanding, unselfish service in a special area or field within the CPA profession.
